Ajit Kumar Panda has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India with effect from August 1, 2026.
According to a regulatory filing by CONCOR, the appointment has been approved by the Minister of Railways. Panda’s tenure will commence from the date he assumes charge of the post and continue till his superannuation on August 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Panda is currently serving as Director (Projects & Services) at CONCOR.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) had recommended Panda’s name for the top post after interviewing eight candidates on April 18, 2026. The recommendation was subsequently forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for approval.
CONCOR, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, is engaged in inland container transportation by rail and also operates ports, air cargo complexes and cold chain logistics across the country.
