Tough times lie ahead for the bureaucracy in Andhra Pradesh, as the newly formed state government under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu begins to shake up their comfort zone. The new Chief Minister has started to tighten his grip on the state bureaucracy by issuing transfer orders for IAS and IPS officers, paving the way for new faces in the administration.
According to sources, the AP government on Tuesday requested the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to send all AP cadre officials working in Telangana back to Andhra Pradesh. However, these officers are reluctant to move back to Andhra. They have decided to meet with DoPT officials on Friday to request to remain in Telangana. Currently, around eight All India Service (AIS) officers allocated to Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation are working in Telangana, while four officers allocated to Telangana are working in Andhra.
