In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir government has appointed Anand Jain (IPS:1999:AGMUT), who currently serves as the Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), as the new Inspector General (IG) of the Jammu Region. He will assume this role following the transfer of Additional Director General (ADG) Mukesh Singh (IPS: 1997: AGMUT), who was recently appointed as the IG of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on a deputation basis, as per an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on September 19.
The government order specifies, “Consequent to the above, Anand Jain, a 1999 batch IPS officer who currently heads the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in J&K, is hereby transferred and appointed as the Inspector General of Police for the Jammu Zone with immediate effect.”
Furthermore, Anand Jain will continue to serve as the head of the ACB until further notice.
