The Rajasthan’s DGP Dr. Bhupendra Singh Yadav (IPS:1986:RJ) has sought retirement through VRS and will be relieved from his duties on 30th of November, this year, seven months prior to his due retirement. Speculations are rife in the power corridors that Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan Government is keen on giving him the important portfolio of the RPSC Chairman, with the crucial task of regulating the service calendar of the state.

DGP Yadav has had an illustrious career as the Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Police University and director, Rajasthan Police Academy, in the past, besides his present role as the DGP.

The process for the selection of the new Director General of Police, Rajasthan has begun and is to be completed before November 30th, 2020. A panel of most suitable names is in the making, which will be sent to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and as per our reliable sources in the upper echelons of state police, senior IPS Officers, ML Lather (IPS:1987:RJ) and BL Soni (IPS:1988:RJ) are two front runners for the top post.
