One more IAS officer, Vidya Bhushan (IAS:2008:UP), has put in his papers after three senior IAS officers sought voluntary retirement. Bhushan is MD of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) and has opted for VRS citing “personal reasons”. He is currently posted in Varanasi.
Bhushan’s request follows the action taken against his wife, IPS officer Alankrita Singh (IPS:2008:UP). The state government suspended his wife for travelling abroad without prior notification to the authorities. Action against Ms. Singh was initiated in April this year.
Earlier in August, senior IAS officer Renuka Kumar(IAS:1987:UP), who recently repatriated to the UP cadre from the Center, where she served as secretary in the ministry of minorities affairs, also applied for voluntary retirement.
Before her, Juthika Patankar (IAS:1988:UP), who was on Central deputation since 2018 and is currently posted as additional secretary in the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, also sought voluntary retirement.
Vikas Gothalwal (IAS:2003:UP) had also opted for early retirement.
