The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the application of the Voluntary Retirement (VRS) of Vidya Bhushan (IAS:2008:UP) from the Indian Administrative Service. He has been DM in several districts, including Amethi, Pratapgarh, Etawah, and OSD in GDA, and is currently the MD of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PUVVNL) in Varanasi.
In September last year, he applied for VRS on medical grounds. In his VRS application, he explained that his health prevented him from fulfilling his duties.
