With new Chief Minister DK Shivakumar taking charge of the state, the Karnataka government on Wednesday (June 3, 2026) carried out significant changes in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Senior IAS officer Tushar Giri Nath (IAS:1993:KN), currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister. He succeeds Anjum Parwez (IAS:1994:KN), who had been serving in the position since June 4, 2025, after incumbent LK Atheeq (Retd. IAS:1991) stepped down from the post on the same day.
Tushar Giri Nath has also been given concurrent charge of the post of Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department until further orders.
In the same order, Rajendra Cholan P (IAS:2008:KN), Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to Chief Minister. He replaces Cauvery B B (IAS:2008:KN), who had been serving in the position since October 2024.
Rajendra Cholan has also been assigned concurrent charge as Managing Director, Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL), relieving Gaurav Gupta, IAS, of the additional charge.
