Tamil Nadu reshuffles 17 IAS officers; Gagandeep Singh Bedi Moved to Municipal Administration

Tamil Nadu government has reshuffled 17 IAS officers, with Gagandeep Singh Bedi among key changes.

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (May 18, 2026) carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 17 IAS officers across various departments. The reshuffle includes several senior-level changes, highlighted by the transfer of Gagandeep Singh Bedi as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, along with key appointments in revenue, transport, finance and public works departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Gagandeep Singh Bedi (IAS:1993:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.
  2. P Amudha (IAS:1994:TN), Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department.
  3. Satyabrata Sahoo (IAS:1997:TN), Principal Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department.
  4. Shunchonngham Jatak Chiru (IAS:1999:TN), Principal Secretary, Transport Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Public Works Department. He will full additional charge of Principal Secretary, Natural Resources Department.
  5. Anil Meshram (IPS:2000:TN), Principal Secretary/Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Energy Department.
  6. M Vallalar (IAS:2003:TN), Commissioner, Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Transport Department.
  7. KS Palanisamy (IAS:2005:TN), Secretary, Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
  8. V Dakshinamoorthy (IAS:2007:TN), formerly Agricultural Production Commissioner and Secretary, Agriculture – Farmers Welfare Department, has been posted as Secretary, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department.
  9. Sajjansingh R Chavan (IAS:2008:TN), Secretary, Planning and Development Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department.
  10. Prashant M Wadnere (IAS:2008:TN), Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department.
  11. GK Arun Sundar Thayalan (IAS:2009:TN), Special Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Registration.
  12. G Lakshmipathy (IAS:2014:TN), formerly Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been posted as Joint Secretary, Finance Department.
  13. T Anand (IAS:2009:TN), Commissioner, Adi Dravidar Welfare, has been placed at the disposal of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for appointment as Managing Director.
  14. AR Rahul Nadh (IAS:2012:TN), Director, Environment and Climate Change, has been placed at the disposal of Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority for appointment as Member Secretary.
  15. GS Sameeran (IAS:2012:TN), Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, has been placed at the disposal of Greater Chennai Corporation for appointment as Commissioner.
  16. M Aarthi (IAS:2013:TN), formerly Additional Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women Limited for appointment as Managing Director.
  17. Dinesh Ponraj Oliver (IAS:2012:TN), Inspector General of Registration, has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board for appointment as Managing Director.
