The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) carried out a fresh round of bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring several senior IAS officers across key departments.
Most notably, T Udhayachandran (IAS:1995:TN), considered one of the most influential bureaucrats during the DMK regime and former Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary/Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited (TIIC).
He will replace Kumar Jayant (IAS:1992:TN), who has now been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited (TNPL).
Dr Darez Ahamed (IAS:2005:TN), who was serving as Managing Director and CEO of Guidance Tamil Nadu, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department. He replaces P Senthilkumar (IAS:1995:TN), who has now been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister.
Anu George (IAS:2003:TN), who earlier served as Secretary-3 to the Chief Minister, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department.
Mariam Pallavi Baldev (IAS:2008:TN), previously Special Secretary in the Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department, has been appointed as Secretary to the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department.
