A number of IPS officers in Tamil Nadu in the rank of DIGs and SPs are waiting to be promoted, even as the vacancies exist. These officers had got their fitness clearance 11 months ago.
Such IPS officers belonging to the 2002 batch are – J. Loganathan, Kapil Kumar C Saratkar, N. Kannan, Santosh Kumar, P.C Thenmozhi, G. Karthikeyan, K. Joshi Normal Kumar and K. Bhavaneeswari .
Similarly, the 2006 batch has nine IPS officers – Abhishek Dixit, S. Mallikha, B. Shamoondeswari, S. Lakshmi, S. Rajeswari, M. Pandian, S. Rajendran, M.S. Muthusamy and N.M Mylvahanan -who are awaiting promotion.
According to sources in the police headquarters, the proposals relating to the promotion/posting of both batches were sent to the Home Department, a decision would have to be taken at the highest level.
