SC collegium recommends 3 Judicial Officers as Judges of Bombay HC

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of three Judicial Officers as Judges of the Bombay High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on October 10, 2023.

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of three Judicial Officers as Judges of the Bombay High Court. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Collegium held on October 10, 2023.

They are;

  1. Abhay Jainarayanji Mantri
  2. Shyam Chhaganlal Chandak
  3. Neeraj Pradeep Dhote

At present, the Bombay High Court operates with a total of 66 judges, comprising 41 permanent judges and 25 additional judges. Nevertheless, the authorized or sanctioned strength of the court, which is the second largest in the country after the Allahabad High Court, remains at 94 judges.
