RECPDCL hands over Vizag Power Transmission SPV to Adani Energy Solutions

RECPDCL hands over Vizag Power Transmission SPV to Adani Energy Solutions for an ₹8,386-crore inter-state transmission project in Andhra Pradesh.

New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over Vizag Power Transmission Limited, the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), to Adani Energy Solutions Limited, the successful bidder for the inter-state transmission project in Andhra Pradesh.

The SPV was handed over on August 14, 2026, following the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator.

Adani Energy Solutions emerged as the successful bidder for development of the “Transmission System for Proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia Projects in Vizag Area, Andhra Pradesh (Phase-I)” on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The SPV was handed over by Rajkumar Sonkar, HoD (CS), RECPDCL, to Shashank Sharma, CBDO, Adani Energy Solutions Limited, in the presence of Ratnesh Kumar, GM (Engineering), and other senior officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy Solutions and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.

The project envisages the establishment of 4×1500 MVA, 765/400 kV Pendurthi GIS substation and 3×1500 MVA, 765/400 kV Khammam-II substation, along with several transmission lines and associated works.

These include 765 kV double-circuit lines from Pendurthi to Srikakulam (226 km), Khammam-II to Warangal New (153 km) and Khammam-II to Pendurthi (338 km), besides a 400 kV double-circuit line from Khammam-II to the existing Khammam substation (60 km).

The transmission project has an estimated cost of ₹8,386 crore and is scheduled to be implemented within 30 months.
