As the new Congress-led UDF government in Kerala under Chief Minister VD Satheesan takes charge, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has also started taking shape with key appointments to several crucial positions.
Senior IAS officer Rathan U Kelkar (IAS:2003:KL) has been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister. Notably, he has been assigned the crucial responsibility while currently serving as the Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala.
The 2003-batch Kerala cadre officer has previously held several important assignments in the state administration and is regarded as an experienced bureaucrat.
Along with Kelkar’s appointment, the government has also constituted the broader team in the Chief Minister’s Office. Sreekumar T, a retired Additional Secretary, has been appointed as Special Private Secretary to the Chief Minister.
The CMO team also includes Siji GS as Press Secretary and Roy Mathews as Media Secretary.
Further, Thilakan KPK and Mohanachandran MS have been appointed as Additional Private Secretaries, while Padmakumar M, Abimon PA, Manojkumar PN, Jafarkhan S, Jayachandran A and Prakash OT will serve as Assistant Secretaries.
