Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology (DST), has proceeded on a eight-day leave from June 11 to June 18, 2025. During this period, the charge of the DST Secretary will be held by Dr Rajesh S Gokhale, the current Secretary, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), on an additional charge basis.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (June 10), the competent authority has approved the temporary assignment of the DST Secretary post to Dr. Gokhale during Prof. Karandikar’s absence.
