Rajasthan government has given the additional charge of Director General of Rajasthan Police to senior IPS officer DG (Crime) M L Lather (IPS:1987:RJ). Senior IPS officer and DG (Crime), M L Lather, on Wednesday assumed Director General of Rajasthan Police charge. This comes after the incumbent DGP, Bhupendra Singh (IPS:1986:RJ) was relieved of his services on Tuesday after the latter sought voluntary retirement under VRS.
The appointment of ML Lather as the new state DGP is not much of a surprise as the officer was already next in command to Singh and was among the frontrunner for the top post.
