Rahul Rasgotra (IPS:1989:MH), presently serving as the Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Thursday (28.12.2023) announcing the appointment. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs to appoint Mr. Rasgotra to the position from the date of joining the post until 30.09.2025, i.e., the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
This appointment follows the reassignment of Anish Dayal Singh to the position of Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
