New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has approved the extension of tenure of Rahul Mithal as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of RITES Limited beyond October 6, 2026, up to his superannuation on June 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In a regulatory filing on Thursday, RITES Limited said the Ministry of Railways communicated the decision through a letter dated August 20, 2026. The extension has been approved by the competent authority.
Mithal has been holding the charge of CMD, RITES since October 6, 2021, when he was appointed for a period of five years or until the date of his superannuation, whichever was earlier.
Prior to his appointment as CMD, Mithal was serving as Director (Project & Services), Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR).
