Pushpendra Kumar appointed acting DGP of Chandigarh; post vacant since April after Raj Kumar Singh's transfer to Delhi.

IPS officer Pushpendra Kumar (IPS:2006:AGMUT) was on Friday (20.06.2025) appointed as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Chandigarh. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, he will hold the additional charge of DGP until further orders.

The post of Chandigarh DGP has remained vacant since April 2025, following the transfer of Raj Kumar Singh (IPS:2004:AGMUT) to Delhi. Singh, who also held the post of Inspector General (IG), had been serving as acting DGP after the transfer of Surendra Yadav.

Pushpendra Kumar took over as IG of Chandigarh in June 2025, replacing Raj Kumar Singh. Prior to his current posting, Kumar served as Joint Commissioner of Police, Eastern Range, in Delhi Police.
