The Punjab government on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) carried out a key bureaucratic reshuffle, issuing transfer orders for eight officers, including two IAS, three IPS and three PPS officers.
Among IAS officers, Poonamdeep Kaur (IAS:2013:PB), Deputy Commissioner of Faridkot, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur. In a corresponding move, Rahul Chaba (IAS:2017:PB), Deputy Commissioner, Sangrur, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Faridkot.
In the police administration, Sartaj Singh Chahal (IPS:2015:PB), SSP, Sangrur, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Moga. Ravjot Grewal (IPS:2015:PB), Joint Director (Administration), Vigilance Bureau, has been appointed as SSP, Sangrur. Ajay Gandhi (IPS:2018:PB), SSP, Moga, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Provisioning.
Among PPS officers, Gagan Ajit Singh, SSP, Malerkotla, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Fazilka, while Gurmit Singh, SSP, Fazilka, has been shifted as SSP, Malerkotla. Sikhnaz Singh (PPS), who was under transfer as SP, Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), SAS Nagar, has been again transferred and his services have been placed at the disposal of the Vigilance Bureau.
