Pramod Kumar,a 1983-batch IPS officer,has been appointed incharge DGP after Geetha Johri retired as incharge Director General of Police. Pramod Kumar has been given the additional charge of DGP in addition to his duty as the DG, Civil Defence and Home Guards.Since the model code of conduct is in place, the Election Commission had directed the government to give charge of DGP to the senior-most IPS officer.
