PM Narendra Modi calls upon IFS officers to help popularise millets for benefit of farmers

Trainee Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers of the 2021 batch called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. The Prime Minister congratulated Officer Trainees during the interaction, saying they will now have the opportunity to represent the country on the world stage. Talking about 2023 being the International Year of Millets, the Prime Minister discussed how the Officers can contribute in popularizing millets for the benefit of farmers.

He spoke about millets’ benefits for health and environmental friendliness. Mr. Modi also talked about LiFE – Lifestyle for Environment stressing that small changes in lifestyle can benefit the environment. Officer Trainees discussed the Panch Pran and gave inputs about how IFS Officers can contribute towards their attainment. The Prime Minister exhorted the Officer Trainees to think and plan long term for the next 25 years and play a vital role for the growth of the country.
