The Modi government on Monday appointed PD Vaghela (IAS:1986:GJ) as the chairman of the Telecom Regulator Authority of India (TRAI) for a period of three years or until he attains the age of 65 years. He will succeed R S Sharma (Retd.IAS:1981:GJ) who is set to demit office on September 30, 2020.
Vaghela was the secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, prior to his latest appointment.
