Dr.Parameswaran Iyer (Ret.IAS:1981:UP) has been given extension as Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation till 30.04.2019.
Tenure of his appointment (contractual basis) was scheduled to be over beyond 28.02.2018.
Iyer is well known for his Jal-Suraj program. He quit the IAS in 2009 to rejoin World Bank as a Senior Water and Sanitation Specialist in Washington DC where he served on deputation from April 1998 till September 2007.
