Senior IPS officer Param Bir Singh (IPS:1988:MH) has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Mumbai. He succeeds Sanjay Barve (IPS:1987:MH), who retired on Saturday.
Singh was posted as Director General (DG) of Anti-Corruption Bureau before his appointment as the Munbai Police Chief.
Singh has also held other important posts including that of Thane police commissioner, of DCP in several important zones in Mumbai, and of Superintendent of Police in districts of Chandrapur and Bhandara.
