Odisha: Denial of leave extension forces Sujata Karthikeyan to resume duty

Senior IAS officer Sujata Karthikeyan (IAS:2000:OR) on Wednesday (27.11.2024) resumed her duties as Special Secretary in the Finance Department, a day after the Odisha government declined her request for a six-month leave extension.

Sujata had been on a six-month childcare leave, which ended on November 26. Although she applied for an additional six months of leave, her application was rejected, and she was directed to immediately reassume her responsibilities.

Sujata Karthikeyan is wife of B Karthikeyan Pandian, a prominent figure in Odisha’s political landscape.
