The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has failed to find a suitable candidate for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) at a selection meeting held on June 14, 2024. The PESB interviewed eight candidates for the job following which it recommended the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to take an appropriate course of action for selection including the search cum selection committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.
During the selection meeting, the following eight candidates were interviewed:
- Shunmugavel Bharathan, Director (Refineries), HPCL
- Anuj Kumar Jain, Executive Director – LPG SBU, HQO, HPCL
- Sunbodh Batra, Executive Director(Other Units) – Direct Sales SBU, HPCL
- K.Vinod, Executive Director Corporate Finance and Treasury, HPCL
- Sandeep Maheshwari, Executive Director (Retail), HPCL
- Vetrivel Chakravarthy Asokan, Executive Director & State Head, Tamil Nadu State Office, Indian Oil Corporation Limited
- Sachchidanand Yadav, Executive Director, Gail (India) Limited
- Kamal Kishore Chatiwal, Executive Director Managing Director- IGL, Indraprastha Gas Limited
