Over 38 experts have joined NITI Aayog through lateral entry, at the level of director and deputy secretary.
According to some senior officers, their expertise and roles range from economics and finance, trade and commerce, and data management and analysis, to rural development and infrastructure connectivity.
According to a government officer, “those hired are top-notch professionals from across the globe.”
Around 20 officers have reportedly joined the NITI Ayog earlier this month. Others have apparently got delayed due to Covid-19, because several of them are not living in Delhi, or even India.
The recruitment was conducted by the NITI Aayog itself and not the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
