Modi govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle, Tarun Bajaj named revenue secretary

The Narendra Modi government on Tuesday effected a major bureaucratic rejig at the level of Secretary.

The name of the officers and their postings are as follows :

1. Tarun Bajaj (IAS:1988:HY) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Presently, he is working as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs.
2. Ajay Seth (IAS:1987:KN) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs vice Tarun Bajaj. Presently, he is serving in the cadre.
3. Gyanesh Kumar (IAS:1988:KL) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs upon the superannuation of R S Shukla (IAS:1986:WB) on 30.04.2021. Presently, he is working as Additional Secretary, Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs.
4. Ali Raza Rizvi (IAS:1988:HP) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises. He replaces Sailesh (IAS:1985:AM) who was appointed last week as a Member of, Public Enterprises Selection Board. Presently, Rizwi is working as Special Secretary and Financial Adviser, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
5. Indevar Pandey (IAS:1988:WB) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare. Pandey replaces Kshatrapati Shivaji (IAS:1986:MH) who retired on 31.03.2021. Presently, Indevar Pandey is working as Special Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
6. Ms Anjali Bhawra (IAS:1988:PB) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. She replaces Ms. Shakuntala D Gamlin (Retd IAS:1984:UT) who retired on 31.03.2021. Presently, she is working as Special Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs,
7. Jatindra Nath Swain (IAS:1988:TN) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying. Presently, he is working as Managing Director, Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.
8. Anil Kumar Jha (IAS:1988:KN) has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Presently, he is working as Special Secretary, Department of Revenue.

Further, the ACC also approved in-situ upgradation of six officers to the level of special secretary in the rank and pay of secretary by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them in their respective ministries/departments.

1. Ms. Anuradha Prasad (IDAS:1986), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, has been elevated as Special secretary.
2. Pramod Kumar Pathak (IFS:1986:KL), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy has been elevated as Special Secretary.
3. Jivesh Nandan (IAS:1987:UP), Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, has been elevated as Special Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.
4. Sanjay Kumar Singh (IAS:1987:MP), Additional Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research & Education & Secretary, Indian Council of Agricultural Research was elevated as Special Secretary.
5. K Rajeswara Rao (IAS:1988:TR), Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog was elevated as Special Secretary, NITI Aayog.
6. S K Dev Verman (IAS:1988:MN), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, was elevated as Special Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs.
