Modi govt effects major bureaucratic rejig at Secretary, Addl. Secretary & Joint Secretary level

The Narendra Modi government on Tuesday effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle at Secretary, Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary level.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :

1. Sanjeeva Kumar (IAS:1986:AM) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs. Presently, he is serving as Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
2. Ms. Vasudha Mishra (IAS:1987:TG) has been appointed as Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, DoPT in the rank and pay of Secretary to Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post. Presently, she is Special Secretary, Department of Agriculture.
3. Rakesh Sarwal (IAS:1988:TR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development .
4. S. Kishore (IAS:1989:WB), presently in the Cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
5. Anurag Jain (IAS:1989:MP) has been appointed as Vice Chairman, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India. He is presently posted in the Cadre.
6. Devendra Kumar Singh (IAS:1989:KL) has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. He is presently posted in the Cadre.
7. Katikithala Srinivas (IAS:1989:GJ) has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Establishment Officer, Department of Personnel and Training vice Pradip Kumar Tripathi, (IAS:1987:JK) upon his appointment as Secretary, Ministry of Steel. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
8. Shiv Das Meena (IAS:1989:TN) has been appointed as Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
9. Manoj Ahuja (IAS:1990:OR) has been appointed as Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India by temporarily upgrading the post. Presently, he is posted as Special Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, DoPT.
10. Ms. Arti Ahuja (IAS:1990:OR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare. Presently, he is serving as Special Director, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Department of Personnel and Training.
11. Alok Kumar (IAS:1990:TR) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat (SR). Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
12. Ms. Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS:1991:UP) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
13. Ms. V. Vidyavathi (IAS:1991:KN) has been appointed as Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, Ministry of Culture in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
14. Rajendra Kumar (IAS:1992:TN) has been appointed as Director General, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour & Employment in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to Government of India. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
15. Rakesh Ranjan (IAS:1992:MN) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development vice Shri Rakesh Sarwal (IAS:1988:TR) upon his appointment as Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog. Presently, he is posted in the Cadre.
16. Anil Kumar Nayak (IOFS:1986) has been apponted as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Department of Posts. Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines.
17. Aniruddha Kumar (IRS-IT:1987) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power.
18. Subir Mallick (IA&AS:1989) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Department of Agricultural Research and Education. Presently, he is posted as Additional Financial Advisor and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence (Finance).
19. Ms. Anuradha Thakur (IAS:1994:HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat. Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance.

In additional, The ACC on Tuesday also approved in-situ upgradation of five Joint Secretary level officers to the level of additional secretary by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them in their respective ministries/departments.

1. Ashish Gupta (IPS:1989:UP) : CEO, NATGRID, Ministry of Home Affairs.
2. Ms. Rashmi Chowdhary (IRPS:1989) : Additional Secretary, Department Ministry of of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
3. Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:1989) : Director, Financial Intelligence Unit (FIUIND), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
4. Anand Mohan Bajaj (IA&AS:1990) : Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
5. Ms. Arti Bhatnagar (IDAS:1990) : Chief Vigilance Officer, Air India Ltd., Ministry of Civil Aviation.
