MP : Administrative rejig by CM Shivraj throws a few surprises

There are quite a few messages coming out of the administrative rejig of IAS officers, by Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan on Saturday. Expectedly, those officers who had the coveted postings during the Kamal Nath government have been sidelined.

But surprisingly, those who had plum posts during the earlier regime of Shivraj, as well in Kamal Nath’s government, have been shifted to lighter positions this time.

And, officers considered close to chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains (IAS:1985:MP), have got important responsibilities.

Iqbal Singh Bains was brought in as the Chief Secretary by Shivraj soon after he took over for his fourth term. Bains replaced M Gopal Reddy (IAS:1985:MP), who was appointed by Kamal Nath, less than a week before resigning as CM. Reddy has now been appointed as Chairman Revenue Board, Gwalior.

Manu Shrivastava (IAS:1991:MP), another key officer in Kamal Nath government has been sent to MP Revenue Board as a member.

Additional Chief Secretary, commercial taxes, ICP Keshari (IAS:1988:MP) –has been shunted to the Narmada Valley Development Authority as Vice Chairman. Keshri was handling the return of lakhs of migrant workers into the state. He is also the President of MP IAS association.

Excise commissioner Rajesh Bahuguna (IAS:2001:MP) has been sent to Gwalior as member, revenue board.

Rajeev Chandra Dubey (IAS:2002:MP), considered close to CM House, is the new Excise Commissioner.

Vinod Kumar (IAS:1989:MP), has got important charge of ACS, general administration department.

Principal secretary Rajesh Rajora (IAS:1990:MP) has been shifted to the labour department.

Principal Secretary Ashok Shah (IAS:1990:MP) gets the responsibility of women and child development department.

P Narhari (IAS:2001:MP) has been transferred from public relations department and posted as MD, Coorperative Marketing Federation and Commissioner, Urban Administration and Development.
