The centre has shown its displeasure at the cases of lockdown violations still reported across the country. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, through a letter, reiterated on Thursday that the “guidelines should be strictly implemented and all authorities need to ensure the same.”
The Central government has reiterated that within red and orange zones, “containment and buffer zones will be demarcated by the district authorities.”
Bhalla also said that states have to continue aggressive contact tracing and house-to-house surveillance in containment zones
The Home Secretary has told states that they “cannot dilute restrictions imposed” through the existing guidelines of the MHA.
