An additional secretary rank official in the External Affairs Ministry has been appointed as a Nodal Officer to coordinate global level efforts to combat the coronavirus, after the World Health Organisation declared it a pandemic. It has taken a toll of over 4000 lives, and infected over 110,000 people in more than countries of the world.
To contain further spread of the virus, the Indian government has suspended all arrivals in India till April 15.
The number of cases in India has climbed to 60.
