Manish Singh appointed SSP in NHRC on lateral shift basis

Gujarat cadre IPS officer Manish Singh has been appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police in NHRC on lateral shift basis.

IPS officer Manish Singh (IPS:2013:GJ), Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), has been appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on lateral shift basis.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday (June 9, 2026), the competent authority approved his appointment to the post from the date of assumption of charge and up to November 13, 2030 (combined tenure of five years) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh has been on central deputation since November 14, 2025, when he joined the BPR&D as SP.

Prior to moving to central deputation, he was serving in his parent cadre Gujarat as Commandant, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Group-16, Bhachau-Kutch.
