Suspended Kerala IAS officer N Prasanth (IAS:2007:KL) strikes again, just a day before he was to appear for a personal hearing before the Chief Secretary on April 16.

His target is again Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan (IAS:1990:KL) against whom he has posted two official letters sent by her regarding a personal hearing he had requested.

He is now claiming that the Chief Secretary denied his request for recording and streaming live the personal hearing after accepting that earlier.

He writes, “In my letter dated February 10, I had requested that the hearing be recorded and streamed live. This request was accepted in the letter I received dated April 4,” Prasanth wrote. “But in the letter dated April 11, my request was denied without any explanation,” he follows it up in second post.

His complaint does not stop here as he is also indignant of the media that described his demand for live-streaming as “strange”.

Prasanth was suspended in November last year after he made derogatory remarks against Additional Chief Secretary A Jayathilak (IAS:1991:KL) and another IAS officer K Gopalkrishnan (IAS:2013:KL).

Then he accused the Chief Secretary for the manner in which his suspension was handled, claiming that he was denied a chance to explain his side.

This can’t be described as co-incident that the Chief Secretary is set to retire on April 30, and Jayathilak is widely believed to succeed her.

The way he has been showing his defiance suggests that he has other plans. Prasanth himself is said to have asserted earlier that the IAS was never his only ambition — he had other interests too.
