Kerala govt issues second IPS reshuffle in six days; 10 officers transferred

The Kerala government on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) issued transfer and posting orders for 10 IPS officers belonging to the ranks of Inspector General of Police (IG), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Superintendent of Police (SP).

This is the second reshuffle of IPS officers in the state within six days.

Earlier, on June 11, 2026, the state government had issued transfer and posting orders for 30 IPS officers in a major reshuffle following the formation of the new government.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

1. Putta Vimaladitya (IPS:2008:KL), Inspector General of Police (Internal Security), has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police (North Zone).
2. S Sateesh Bino (IPS:2008:KL), Inspector General of Police, Armed Police Battalions, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police (Internal Security).
3. Karthick K (IPS:2011:KL), who had earlier been transferred as DIG, Thrissur Range, has now been posted as DIG, Kannur Range.
4. Narayanan T (IPS:2011:KL), who was under orders of transfer as DIG, Kannur Range, has been retained as DIG, Thrissur Range.
5. Ajit Kumar (IPS:2017:KL), who was awaiting posting after his transfer from the post of District Police Chief, Palakkad, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (Telecom).
6. Mohanachandran Nair M P (IPS:2019:KL), who was earlier transferred as SP, Crime Branch, Kozhikode and Wayanad, has now been posted as SP, Crime Branch, Malappuram.
7. Arun K Pavithran (IPS:2020:KL), who was awaiting posting after his transfer from the post of District Police Chief, Wayanad, has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police-2 (Law & Order and Traffic), Kochi City.
8. Juvvanapudi Mahesh (IPS:2020:KL), who was transferred from the post of District Police Chief, Thiruvananthapuram Rural and was awaiting posting, has been appointed as SP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Southern Range, Thiruvananthapuram.
9. Shahul Hameed A (IPS:2020:KL), former District Police Chief, Kottayam and awaiting posting, has been appointed as SP, Economic Offences Wing, Thiruvananthapuram Range.
10. Shahansha K S (IPS:2021:KL), Deputy Commissioner of Police-2 (Law & Order and Traffic), Kochi City, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law & Order and Traffic), Thiruvananthapuram City.
