J&K : DPC clears promotion for IPS officers, MHA likely to give final nod soon

The Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), chaired by Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, BVR Subrahmanyam (IAS:1987:CG), has cleared and referred promotions of two Additional DGP’s as DGPs and four IGP’s as Additional DGPs to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which is likley to give its nod soon.

The DPC has also approved regularization of 189 Superintendents of Police and 327 DySPs, and has created more than 100 posts for Deputy Superintendents of Police in J&K.

Amit Kumar(IPS:2006:J&K) is the new DIG, while four officiating DIGs of 2007 batch, Sunil Gupta, Vivek Gupta, Sujit Kumar and Suleman Choudhary have been given Selection Grade.

Two other IPS officers of 2016 batch, PD Nitya and Sheema Nabi Qasba, have been given Senior Time Scale.

The DPC has sent a proposals for promotion of two Additional DGPs, Lalatendu Mohanty (IPS:1989:J&K) and Dr B Srinivas (IPS:1990:J&K) as DGPs and four IGPs SD Singh (IPS:1995:J&K), SS Khandare (IPS:1995:J&K), Rajesh Kumar (IPS:1995:J&K) and T Namgyal (IPS:1995:J&K) as Additional DGPs to the Union Home Ministry.
