Govt retires 21 more currupt tax officers

The government has compulsorily retired another 21 corrupt tax officers in the fifth tranche of its crackdown on erranat officials accused of curruption and other malpractices.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) compulsorily retired 21 Group B officers of the rank of Income Tax Officer under Fundamental Rule 56 (J) in the public interest, due to corruption and other charges and CBI traps.

They are :

  1. Mrs. Rajasiri : ITO (IAP), Rajahmundry.
  2. B Srinivas Rao : TRO-1, Visakapatnam.
  3. G Venkateswara Rao : ITO, Ward-12(1), Hyderabad.
  4. P Venkateswara Rao : ITO, MSTU, Visakapatnam.
  5. Mrs. Lakshmi Neeraja : ITO.
  6. Vinod Kumar Pal : Then ITO, WARD-2(1), Hazaribag.
  7. Tarun Roy : ITO, Hazaribag.
  8. Mrs Preetha Babukuttan : ITO, ITO 31(1)(2), Mumbai.
  9. Vijay Kumar Kohad : ITO (Now posted as ITO, ITAT Mumbai).
  10. T V Mohan : ITO (Now posted as O/o CIT-14, Mumbai)
  11. Anil Mallel : ITO, Thane.
  12. Mrs. Madhavi Chavan : ITO, Thane.
  13. M D Jagdale : ITO (Now posted as at ITO (HQ), O/o Pr.CIT-I, Nagpur)
  14. Rajendra Sighal : ITO (Tech)-2, Rajkot.
  15. J B Singh : ITO, Gujarat.

Since June, this is the fifth round of sacking of corrupt tax officials. With this, 85 officers, including 64 high ranking tax officers, have been compulsorily retired.
