The central government has decided to get tough with the implementation of the extended lockdown. It has said that those officers, who fail to check cases of lockdown violations in their areas, will face strict action under the Disaster Management Act.

According to sources the Home Ministry is monitoring the incidents of lock down violations.

As decided earlier, all district magistrates will be responsible for their areas.

The government, on March 29, had acted against four senior Delhi government officials, two of whom were even suspended for dereliction of duty.
