Former CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha (Retd.IPS:1974:BH) passed away early Friday due to Covid-related complications. He had tested postive for Covid on Thursday.
Sinha joined the service at a young age of 21 and served long tenures in his state and in central agencies.
Mr Sinha headed the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force, the Railway Protection Force and served at senior positions in the Central Bureau of Investigation in Patna and Delhi before his appointment as CBI chief in 2012.
