Former Tripura cadre bureaucrat Nagaraju Maddirala (IAS:1993:TR) has been appointed the new Chairman and Managing Director of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) for two years. His tenure will begin from the date he assumes charge.
Maddirala succeeds Nand Kishore, whose tenure as IL&FS Chairman and Managing Director ended on September 30, 2026.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued an order in this regard on October 12.
A statement issued by the ministry said Maddirala was designated for the top role after being appointed as a director on the IL&FS board by the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal on October 1, 2026.
The ministry has directed IL&FS to complete the procedural formalities to implement the order of his appointment.
Maddirala’s appointment bears significance as IL&FS continues its resolution and asset monetisation process after the infrastructure financier faced debt crisis.
