The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has reportedly issued a stern warning to its employees against using political or external influence for transfers and postings. In an office memorandum, the department emphasized that such attempts are being taken seriously and could lead to disciplinary action against the officers involved.

CPWD has observed instances where officers have attempted to manipulate their postings through these means. The department reminded its employees of the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964, and a 2019 office memorandum, both of which prohibit officers from seeking political or outside influence in service matters.
