Following the retirement of UT Adviser Dharam Pal (IAS:1988:AGMUT) on October 31, UT Home Secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS:2000:HY) has assumed additional responsibilities as UT Adviser. He has dedicated over two years of service to the city. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is yet to announce his replacement.
According to inside sources, four senior IAS officers are being considered for the UT Adviser position, including the Chief Secretaries of Goa and Arunachal Pradesh. Among the contenders are Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Dharmendra (IAS:1989:AGMUT) and Principal Secretary Dr. Sharad Chauhan (IAS:1994:AGMUT). Mr. Chauhan is also serving in Arunachal Pradesh.
Other candidates in the running for the position include Goa Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel (IAS:1991:AGMUT) and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) Chairperson Amit Yadav (IAS:1991:AGMUT).
