The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has redistributed responsibilities among its members following the retirement of Harinder Bir Singh Gill (IRS-IT: 1987) on February 28. Gill had been serving as Member (Taxpayer Services and Revenue) with the additional charges of Member (Systems and Faceless Services) and Member (Income Tax).
As per the new allocations, Prabodh Seth (IRS-IT:1989), currently Member (Administration) and In-charge of West Zone (Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur), has been given additional charges of Member (Systems and Faceless Services) and In-charge of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as well as Member (Taxpayer Services and Revenue) with charge of East Zone (West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar and Jharkhand, Odisha and NER).
Meanwhile, Ramesh Narain Parbat (IRS-IT:1989), Member (Legislation) and In-charge of North Zone (Delhi, UP-East, UP-West and Uttarakhand and NWR) with additional charge of Member (Audit and Judicial) along with zonal charge of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, has been given additional charge of Member (Income Tax) along with zonal charge of Karnataka & Goa Region and AP & Telangana.
