Retired IAS officer BN Krishnaiah (IAS:2000:KN) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to HD Kumaraswamy, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel. His appointment is specifically pertains to Minister of Heavy Industries and he will assume the charge of the post at Deputy Secretary level.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (14.04.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Krishnaiah to the post for a period of 3 years 6 months and 18 days (i.e. for the balance period of 4 years tenure as OSD at Deputy Secretary level).
The appointment will be effective from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
