Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd is set to appoint former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai as the Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of the Board, the company announced on Monday, March 28. The appointment will be subject to obtaining requisite regulatory and shareholders’ approvals. T S Kalyanaraman will continue in his role on the company’s board as the Managing Director.
Punjab: Four senior IPS officers shifted, G K Deo is new CVO of Punjab Police
The Punjab government on Friday (25.03.2022) issued transfer and posting orders of four senior IPS officers with immediate effect.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :
- Prabodh Kumar (IPS:1988:PB): Special DGP, Intelligence.
- S S Srivastava (IPS:1994:PB): ADGP, Intelligence.
- Amardeep Singh Rai (IPS:1994:PB): ADGP, Traffic.
- Gurpreet Kaur Deo (IPS:1993:PB): Chief Vigilance Officer, Police Department.
Haryana: Two IAS officers shifted, Vikas Yadav is DG, Hospitality
The Haryana government on Friday (25.03.2022) issued transfer and posting orders of two IAS officers.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows :
- Vikas Yadav (IAS:2003:HY): Director General, Hospitality and Secretary, Hospitality Department.
- Phool Chand Meena (IAS:2004:HY): Managing Director, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd with additional charge of Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources Department and Managing Director, HSMITC.
Two IPS officers inducted as SP in NIA
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (21.03.2022) notified the appointments of two IPS officers to SP level posts in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a period of five years. They have been appointed to the post from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The names of the officers are as follows;
- Ved Prakash Surya (IPS:2009:AGMUT)
- Rakesh Roushan (IPS:2010:AM)

Pradeep Kumar Chand has been selected for the post of Director (Finance), Cement Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on March 25, 2022. Presently, he is serving as General Manager, Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd (BCPL).

Amresh Bahadur Pal appointed as Deputy Secretary, D/o Social Justice & Empowerment
Amresh Bahadur Pal (ISS:2011) was on Friday (25.03.2022) selected for appointment to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Delhi for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Pal to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
BSF IG Sonali Mishra gets two year extension
The deputation tenure of Ms. Sonali Mishra (IPS:1993:MP) as Inspector General (IG), Border Security Force (BSF) has been extended up to 28.02.2024. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for extension of the deputation tenure of Ms. Mishra beyond 28.02.2022 and up to 28.02.2024 (total 7 years), relaxation of the IPS Tenure Policy.
ACC clears appointment of four CVOs in Various PSUs
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Friday (25.03.2022) cleared the appointment of a number of officers as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in the various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
They are ;
- Sandeep Sarkar (IDAS:1995) has been appointed as CVO, Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL), Delhi for a combined tenure of 7 years i.e. up to 02.07.2024.
- Priya Ranjan Rarhi (IRTS:1997) has been appointed as CVO, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Delhi for an initial period of 3 years.
- Surendra Singh (ITS:1995) has been appointed as CVO, IRCON International Ltd., Delhi for an initial period of three years.
- Arun Kumar Chaturvedi (IRSE:1994) has been appointed as CVO, Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Delhi for an initial period of three years.

Modi govt clears appointments, repatriation of 10 JS level officers
The Modi government on Thursday (24.03.2022) cleared the appointments and premature repatriation of 10 Joint Secretary /Joint Secretary equivalent level officers in various ministries and departments.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:
- Krishna Kant Singh (IDAS:2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary (SR), Cabinet Secretariat for tenure up to 02.10.2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer.
- Alok Agrawal (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 31.12.2023.
- Vivek Bhushan Sood (IRSE:1996:Civil) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management for a tenure of five years. He replaces D Bhatnagar (IRS-IT:1988).
- M C Jauhari (IAS:1987:AM) has been appointed as Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) (JS level), National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) under the Ministry of Minority Affairs for a tenure up to the date of his superannuation on 31.08.2022. He replaces Md. Shahbaz Ali (IP&TA&FS:1989).
- Arti Chhabra Srivastava (IOFS:1990) has been appointed as Additional Secretary (Joint Secretary level), Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) under the Department of Personnel & Training for a combined tenure of seven years up to 16.12.2025. He replaces Daniel Paul (IDES:1989).
- Ritu Sam (IAS:2003:CG) has been appointed as CEO/DG, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) under the Department of Sports for an overall tenure of five years up to 25.03.2024. She will replace Navin Agarwal (IPS:1986:AGMUT).
- Prajakta L Verma (IAS:2001:MH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles for a tenure of five years. She will replace Nihar Ranjan Dash (IRSEE:1989).
- Rajeev Saxena (IRSS:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles for a combined tenure of five years. He replaces Jogiranjan Panigrahi (IRS-C&IT:1989).
- Anand Mohan (IFoS:1996) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for a tenure of five years.
- Ms. Alaknanda Dayal (IAS:2000:PB), Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre with immediate effect.
