Simmi R Nakra gets two years extension as CVO of PFC

Simmi R Nakra (IP&TA&FS:1994) has been granted an extension as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) in Delhi, ensuring her continued role for an additional two years. This decision received official approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, following a directive issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 20.

With this extension, Ms. Nakra’s tenure will now span beyond the initial date of November 01, 2023, reaching up to November 20, 2025, or until further instructions are issued, whichever event comes first.

Amal Garg gets two years extension as CVO of AAI

Amal Garg (IRS-IT:1995) will continue to serve as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Airport Authority of India (AAI), Delhi, for an additional two years. This extension of his deputation tenure has been officially sanctioned by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as per the directive issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on September 20. Mr. Garg’s tenure will now extend beyond October 20, 2023, up to October 20, 2025, or until further instructions are received, whichever comes first.

UP govt assigns 26 newly promoted PPS officers to IPS roles in current postings

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday (19.09.2023) appointed 26 Provincial Police Service Cadre (PPS) officers from Uttar Pradesh, who were promoted to the Indian Police Service (IPS) on September 15, to the IPS positions within their current posting areas.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Pradeep Kumar has been posted as Additional SP, KESKO, Kanpur City.
  2. Vipul Kumar Srivastava has been posted as Additional SP, Sultanpuri.

Haryana: Two IPS officers get additional responsibilities

The Haryana government on Tuesday (19.09.2023) allocated additional responsibilities to two IPS officers within the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Hamid Akhtar (IPS:2008:HY), Deputy Inspector General (DIG), State Crime Branch, Panchkula, will look after the work of DIG, Women Safety, in addition to his own duties, during the leave period of Naazneen Bhasin (IPS:2007:HY).
  2. Smiti Chaudhary (IPS:2012:HY), Superintendent of Police, Law and Order, Panchkula, will look after the work of SP, Women Safety, Panchkula, in addition to her own duties, during the leave period of Karan Goel (HPS).

Bihar: Chief Secretary Amir Subhani airlifted to New Delhi for treatment

Bihar Chief Secretary Amir Subhani (IAS:1987:BH) was airlifted to New Delhi on Sunday to receive advanced medical care. Subhani had been admitted to a private hospital in Patna on Thursday following a fall in his bathroom that resulted in a head injury. Subsequent CT scans revealed a minor trauma.

Pratyaya Amrit (IAS:1991:BH), Additional Chief Secretary of the State Health Department, stated on Monday that Subhani was transferred to Delhi for comprehensive treatment. His condition is showing improvement, and there is no cause for concern.

Subhani had been battling a fever for nearly three days before the incident occurred when he slipped in his bathroom at home on Thursday morning. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital due to feelings of discomfort and headaches. Currently, he is receiving treatment at a hospital in Gurugram.

Centre repatriates IG CRPF Vidhi Kumar Birdi to AGMUT cadre

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an order for the early repatriation of Inspector General Vidhi Kumar Birdi (IPS:2003:AGMUT) from his current assignment in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to his original cadre of AGMUT.

Inspector General Birdi, who originally belonged to the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, was serving in the CRPF on a deputation basis.

The central government has instructed the Director General of CRPF to communicate the date on which Officer Birdi will be relieved from his present responsibilities.

J&K: IPS officer Mukesh Singh appointed IG in ITBP

Senior IPS officer Mukesh Singh (IPS:1996:AGMUT), currently holding the position of Additional Director General in the Jammu Zone, has been appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on a deputation basis, as announced by the Union Home Ministry.

According to an official order, Singh will serve in the ITBP for a period of five years. He assumed the role of Inspector General of Police for the Jammu Zone on August 14, 2019, and was subsequently promoted to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) on January 20, 2021.

In response to this appointment, the Ministry of Home Affairs has requested the Jammu and Kashmir administration to promptly release Singh from his current duties, allowing him to take up his new responsibilities at the central level.

UP: Three IPS officers shifted, Rajesh Dwivedi posted as SP, Rampur

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday (19.09.2023) issued orders for the transfer and posting of three IPS officers. They exchanged their respective responsibilities.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Keshav Chandra Goswami (IPS), SP, CB CID, has been transferred and posted as SP, Hardoi.
  2. Ashok Kumar-IV (IPS), SP, Rampur, has been transferred and posted as SP, CB CID.
  3. Rajesh Dwivedi (IPS), SP, Hardoi, has been transferred and posted as SP, Rampur.

ITBP DIG Kuldeep Dwivedi shifted to CBI in same role

Kuldeep Dwivedi (IPS:2005:JH) has been laterally shifted to the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Presently, he holds the position of DIG at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Monday (18.09.2023), announcing the approval of this lateral shift by the competent authority.

As per the order, Mr. Dwivedi’s tenure in the CBI will span a combined period of five years, concluding on January 17, 2026, starting from the date he assumes charge of the post or until further directives are issued.

Raj Kumar Chaudhary appointed as Director (Technical), NHPC Limited

In an official announcement made via an exchange filing on Tuesday (19.09.2023), NHPC Limited has appointed Raj Kumar Chaudhary as its Director (Technical). Mr. Chaudhary will hold this esteemed position until June 30, 2025. Notably, prior to this appointment, he had been serving as the Regional Executive Director (Technical) within the same organization.

“Ministry of Power on September 18, 2023, has appointed Raj Kumar Chaudhary to the post of Director (Technical), NHPC Ltd, for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. June 30, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier,” a BSE filing said.
