Rakesh Kumar Tondar appointed as Director in DPIIT (TSU)

Mr. Rakesh Kumar Tondar (ITS:1998), who was endorsed for central deputation by the Department of Telecommunications, has been chosen to assume the position of Director within the Department of Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (TSU) in Delhi. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (26.09.2023), the central government has approved the appointment of Mr. Tondar to the post under the central staffing scheme.

Under the central staffing scheme, Mr. Tondar’s appointment to this role will have a tenure until the 31st of March 2025, or as long as the TSU remains operational, with the possibility of further extension up to the permissible tenure, or until subsequent instructions are issued, whichever of these events transpires earlier.

Gaigongdin Panmei gets extension as Financial Adviser, North Eastern Council, Shillong

Mr. Gaigongdin Panmei (IRS-C&IT:1989), currently serving as the Financial Adviser(JS level) for the North Eastern Council in Shillong, has had his tenure extended by six months. This extension has been authorized by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as stated in an official directive released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, the 26th of September 2023.

Under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region’s proposal, Mr. Panmei’s tenure has been extended from the 1st of October 2023 to the 31st of March 2024 or until further instructions are issued, whichever of these scenarios occurs earlier.

Ujjwal Kumar appointed OSD to MoS for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar

Mr. Ujjwal Kumar, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, has been designated as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State for Education. This appointment has been endorsed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as indicated in an official order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, the 26th of September 2023.

Mr. Kumar’s appointment to the position will take effect from the date he assumes the responsibilities of this role. This appointment is on a co-terminus basis with the Minister’s tenure or until such time that Mr. Kumar no longer serves as OSD to the Minister, or until further instructions are issued, whichever of these events occurs earlier.

PM Advisor Amit Khare gets extension

Amit Khare (Retd.IAS:1985:JH), who currently serves as the Advisor to the Prime Minister, will continue in this role beyond October 12, 2023. An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (25.09.2023) announced that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved an extension of Mr. Khare’s tenure, which will be in effect until the term of the Prime Minister concludes or until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.

Mr. Khare retired from government service in September 2021, while he held the positions of Union Secretary for Higher Education and had an additional charge as Secretary for the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Subsequently, on October 12, 2021, he was reappointed as the Prime Minister’s Advisor for a two-year term upon his retirement.

Dr. Rajesh S Gokhale gets two-year extension as Secretary, D/o Biotechnology

Dr. Rajesh S Gokhale‘s term as Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology has been extended for an additional two years. As per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (25.09.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved this extension, which will be effective from November 1, 2023, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier.

Dr. Rajesh S Gokhale initially assumed the role on October 26, 2021, for a two-year term. At that time, he was serving as a Professor in the Department of Biology at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in Pune.

Ashish Srivastava gets extension as Advisor in Inter-State Council Secretariat

The central deputation of Ashish Srivastava (IAS:1992:MP) as Adviser in the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended. As per an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (25.09.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension, allowing Mr. Srivastava to continue his deputation until October 3, 2025, or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.

Vipul Ujwal appointed as Director in Ministry of Panchayati Raj

Vipul Ujwal (IAS:2009:PB) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (22.09.2023), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Ujwal to the post for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Manobendra Ghoshal selected as CMD, MSTC Limited

Manobendra Ghoshal has been selected for appointment as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), MSTC Limited at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on September 25, 2023. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director, RITES Limited.

He will be appointed to the post of CMD after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Ashok Kumar Patra has been selected for appointment as Director (Finance), Projects & Developments India Limited (PDIL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on September 22, 2023. Presently, he is serving as Chief Financial Officer, Engineering Projects (India) Ltd..

UP: Two IPS officers shifted, Raveena Tyagi posted as SP, WCSO

The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday issued transfer and posting orders for two IPS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Padmaja Chauhan (IPS:1998:UP), ADGP, Fire and Emergency Services, Lucknow, has been given charge of Women and Child Security Organization (WCSO) in which he will monitor the programmes of Women empowerment.
  2. Raveena Tyagi (IPS:2014:UP), DCP, Police Commissionerate, Kanpur, has been transferred and posted as SP, Women and Child Security Organization (WCSO).
