Harish Duhan selected as Director (Technical), Central Coalfields Limited

Harish Duhan has been selected for appointment as Director (Technical), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL)at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on November 6, 2023. Presently, he is serving as General Manager, Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL).

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Technical) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The following 12 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting :

IPS V Chandrasekhar appointed as Joint Director in CBI

V Chandrasekhar (IPS:2000:GJ) has been appointed as the Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a term of five years. This appointment has received approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as stated in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Mr. Chandrasekhar’s appointment will become effective from the date he assumes office, and he will serve in this capacity for a period of five years or until further directives are issued, whichever transpires earlier.

Anita Rupavataram’s tenure as Director in Mumbai’s Office of the Custodian extended

The deputation tenure of Anita Rupavataram (IRS-IT: 2003) as Director in the Office of the Custodian, Mumbai, has been extended for an additional period of one year. As per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the Department of Financial Services to extend Ms. Rupavataram’s tenure. This extension will continue for one year beyond October 24, 2023, up to October 24, 2024, or until the winding up of the Office of the Custodian (which is currently extended up to December 31, 2023), or until further instructions are issued, depending on which event takes place earlier.

Ashish Sinha gets extension as Second Secretary (Executive Engineer), Embassy of India in Kathmandu

The foreign deputation tenure of Ashish Sinha, who serves as an Executive Engineer in the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), as Second Secretary (Executive Engineer) at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, has been extended for an additional year. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023, has approved the proposal presented by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to extend Mr. Sinha’s tenure. This extension will continue for one year beyond November 8, 2023, up to November 8, 2024, or until the arrival of his replacement, or until further instructions are issued, depending on which event takes place earlier.

Alok Prem Nagar gets extension as JS, Ministry of Panchayati Raj

The central deputation tenure of Alok Prem Nagar (IFS:1995:HP) as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (04.11.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Nagar beyond 17.02.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IPS Raghubir Lal gets extension as JS (Security), Lok Sabha Secretariat

The central deputation tenure of Raghubir Lal (IPS: 1997: UP) as Joint Secretary (Security) in the Lok Sabha Secretariat has been extended. As per an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted approval to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal to extend Mr. Lal’s deputation tenure beyond September 30, 2023, up to October 20, 2023. This extension amounts to a total tenure of 8 years and 22 days, which is granted in relaxation of the IPS Tenure Policy.

Shanmugha Sundaram appointed as Director (Projects), NTPC Ltd

Shanmugha Sundaram, currently serving as the Executive Director at NTPC Ltd., has been appointed as the Director (Projects) at NTPC Ltd. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted approval for this appointment, based on the proposal from the Ministry of Power, as detailed in an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Mr. Sundaram’s appointment will be effective from the date he takes charge of the position, which is anticipated to be on or after December 1, 2023. He will hold this role until the date of his superannuation, which is May 31, 2027, or until any further directives are issued, whichever event occurs earlier.

It’s worth noting that his selection for the Director (Projects) position came following recommendations from the Public Enterprises Selection Board, which conducted interviews with eleven candidates on July 13, 2023.

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh appointed as Director (Liner and Passenger Services), Shipping Corporation of India

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh, who currently holds the position of Chief of Staff at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi, has been appointed as the Director (Liner and Passenger Services) at the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI). This appointment has been officially approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, as outlined in an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh’s appointment is on an immediate absorption basis, effective from the date he assumes charge of the post. He will serve in this capacity until the date of his superannuation, which is September 30, 2028, or until further orders are issued, depending on which event occurs earlier.

It is noteworthy that his selection for the Director (Liner and Passenger Services) position was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board following interviews with three candidates on March 3, 2023.

Shivendra Nath appointed as CMD, EPIL

Shivendra Nath, who currently serves as Senior General Manager (SGM) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPIL) for a duration of five years. This appointment has received the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as indicated in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Mr. Nath will assume his role as CMD from the date he takes charge, and he will serve in this capacity for a period of five years or until the date of his superannuation, or until further instructions are issued, whichever event comes first. This appointment is in alignment with the proposal put forth by the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

His name was recommended by the Public Enterprises Selection Board after interviewing four candidates for the CMD position on July 27, 2023.

GS Rawat and AK Sood named Dy. MDs of NABARD

The central government has appointed Goverdhan Singh Rawat and Ajay Kumar Sood to serve as Deputy Managing Directors (DMDs) at the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). This appointment follows the approval of the proposal by the Department of Financial Services, as conveyed in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Their appointments will be effective from the date they assume office or until further directives are issued, whichever occurs earlier. Mr. Rawat’s appointment is for a term of five years, while Mr. Sood will serve until his superannuation on August 31, 2027.

Both Mr. Rawat and Mr. Sood previously held the position of Chief General Managers at NABARD.
