MHA orders inquiry against senior IPS officer Sanjay Kumar Singh

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered an investigation into the alleged disproportionate assets of Sanjay Kumar Singh (IAS:1996:OR), Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Last week, Odisha cadre senior IPS officer took voluntary retirement. He was the probe officer into the Cordelia Cruise drug bust case and gave clean chit to actor Shah Rukh Khan son Aryan Khan booked in a narcotics case by NCB Mumbai on October 2, 2021.

Sanjay Kumar Singh filed for voluntary retirement on the last day of February, which was approved by the Odisha government after waiving the mandatory three-month waiting period. He is set to leave service on the last day of April, a year ahead of his scheduled retirement, marking the end of his 28-year career in the police force.

The investigation into disproportionate assets focuses on significant college fees paid in 2021 and 2022, as well as a property in Navi Mumbai that is suspected to be a benami.

The central deputation tenure of Kunal Kumar (IAS:1999:MH) as Joint Secretary (Director level) in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs(MoHUA), has been extended upto 30.06.2024. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Kunal Kumar beyond 09.04.2024 and upto 30.06.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Rahul Rastogi gets one year extension as JS in CIC

The central deputation tenure of Rahul Rastogi (ITS:1998) as Joint Secretary (Director level) in the Central Information Commission (CIC), has been extended for one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Rahul Rastogi for one year beyond 29.08.2024 and upto 29.08.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Rahul Kumar Sachan’s tenure as Regional Director, SSC Prayagraj extended

The central deputation tenure of Rahul Kumar Sachan (ITS:1997) as Regional Director of Staff Selection Commission (Central Region), Prayagraj, has been extended for three months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend the deputation tenure of Rahul Kumar Sachan for three months beyond 02.04.2024 and upto 02.07.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Retired IAS officer Ashok Ranjan Basu named IPSA panel chief

Ashok Ranjan Basu, a retired IAS officer from Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as Chairman of Research Committee No. 48 on Administrative Culture of International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Montreal, Canada. Basu will hold this post until 2028.

The committee, which focuses on research in administrative systems, includes members from around the world.

Basu had served as a member of the Central Administrative Tribunal. After his retirement, he became an author, published books on various aspects of administration and law.

One of his books, ‘Transparency, Accountability, Open Government, and e-Governance’, originally published in English, has been translated into six European languages: German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese.

He is also a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland (FRAS), London. Additionally, he has been the Director of the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration, Fair Lawns, Shimla.

Darla Sunil Kumar selected as Director (Finance), SECL

Darla Sunil Kumar has been selected as Director (Finance), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on April 26, 2024. Presently, he is serving as General Manager, Northern Coalfields Limited.

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Finance) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Jitender Ahlawat repatriated to parent cadre

Jitender Ahlawat (IFoS:2010:HY), Deputy Secretary in Department of Consumer Affairs, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre of Haryana. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on Friday (26.04.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal of Department of Consumer Affairs to repatriate Jitender Ahlawat to his parent cadre on personnel grounds.

Sunil Kumar Yadav appointed as Director in Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs

Sunil Kumar Yadav (IRS-IT:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Delhi for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Friday (26.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Sunil Kumar Yadav to the post for period of five years from the date of taking over the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Anurag Chandra appointed as Deputy Secretary in D/o Chemicals & Petrochemicals

Anurag Chandra (IRS-IT:2014), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Delhi for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Friday (26.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Anurag Chandra to the post for period of four years from the date of taking over the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sarvadanand Barnwal appointed as Director, Department of Land Resources

Sarvadanand Barnwal (ISS:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the M/o Statistics & Programme Implementation, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Land Resources, Delhi for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Friday (26.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Sarvadanand Barnwal to the post for period of five years from the date of taking over the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
