SVR Chandra Sekhar gets additional charge as CVO of NMDC

SVR Chandra Sekhar (IDES:2000), presently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited (KIOCL), Bengaluru, has been assigned additional charge of CVO, National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC), Hyderabad.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (August 5, 2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to entrust the additional charge to Mr Sekhar with effect from August 3, 2025, for a period of six months or until the appointment of a regular CVO in NMDC, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Abhishek Ranjan gets additional charge as CVO of HSL

Hindustan Shipyard Limited

Abhishek Ranjan (IOFS:2008), presently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), Kolkata, has been assigned additional charge of CVO, Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Visakhapatnam.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (August 6, 2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to entrust the additional charge to Mr Ranjan with effect from June 1, 2025, for a period of six months i.e., up to November 11, 2025 or until the appointment of a regular CVO in HSL, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

PESB invites applications for ITI Ltd Director (Production) post

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has invited applications for the post of Director (Production), ITI Limited. The notification was issued on Friday (August 8, 2025), with September 17, 2025, fixed as the deadline for submissions. Eligible candidates from both the public and private sectors can apply through the PESB portal.

The post will fall vacant on July 1, 2026. At present, S Jeyanthi has been holding the charge since May 19, 2023.

ITI Limited is a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) in the Medium and Light Engineering sector, functioning under the administrative control of the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications.

IAS Ravi Dhawan appointed Director in Ministry of Power

IAS officer Ravi Dhawan (IAS:2011:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed Director in the Ministry of Power for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (August 8, 2025), Dhawan has been appointed under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Presently, he is serving as Special Secretary, Power with addl. charge of Member (Admn.), Delhi Jal Board in Delhi Government.

IAS Cheshta Yadav gets additional charge as DCO & DCR of Goa

The central government on Friday (August 8, 2025) assigned IAS officer Cheshta Yadav (IAS:2014:AGMUT) the additional charge as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) of Goa. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (August 8, 2025), her appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date of assuming charge and will continue till December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Yadav, currently serving as District Magistrate, North-West Delhi, will replace Arun Kumar Mishra (IAS:2006:AM), who has held the post since February 2, 2022. Mishra was originally appointed till December 31, 2025, but is now being replaced.

Gaurav Singh Rajawat gets additional charge as DCO & DCR of Lakshadweep

The central government on Friday (August 8, 2025) assigned IAS officer Gaurav Singh Rajawat (IAS:2011:AGMUT) additional charge as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Lakshadweep.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), his appointment comes under the Central Staffing Scheme with effect from the date of assuming charge and will continue till December 31, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Gaurav Singh Rajawat is currently serving as Secretary Lakshadweep Administration for Finance, Planning Statistics & Taxation, Panchayath, Rural Development, Services, Power, Port Shipping & Aviation and Information & Public Relations.

Rajawat will replace Vikranth Raja A (IAS:2015:AGMUT), who has been serving in the post since February 22, 2024. Although Raja’s tenure was originally set to run until December 31, 2025, he is now being relieved from the assignment ahead of schedule.

Sufiyah Faruqui Wali appointed as DCO/DCR of Madhya Pradesh

The central government on Friday (August 8, 2025) appointed Ms. Sufiyah Faruqui Wali (IAS:2009:MP) as the new Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) of Madhya Pradesh.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ms. Wali will assume her new role effective from October 1, 2025. Her tenure is set to continue until December 31, 2025, or until further orders—whichever comes earlier.

The concerned authorities have been directed to relieve Ms. Wali from her current duties to facilitate her immediate joining in the new assignment.

Seven Calcutta High Court Additional Judges get one-year extension

The Union government has notified the extension of tenure for seven Additional Judges of the Calcutta High Court by one more year.

The move follows the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation made on July 28, 2025. The judges whose terms have been extended are:

  1. Justice Biswaroop Chowdhury
  2. Justice Prasenjit Biswas
  3. Justice Uday Kumar
  4. Justice Ajay Kumar Gupta
  5. Justice Supratim Bhattacharya
  6. Justice Partha Sarathi Chatterjee
  7. Justice Md. Shabbar Rashidi
